Atholl Brose
This creamy drink is named after the Duke of Atholl who lived in the 15th century. It is traditionally served at Hogmanay.
What you need
- 60 ml fine oatmeal
- 6 tsp clear honey
- 1 1/8 l Scottish whisky
Method
Blend the oatmeal with enough cold water to make a thick paste. Very thoroughly mix in the honey.
Strain into a large bottle. Fill up with whisky. Shake well.
Serve neat, or with hot or cold water or soda water.
Serving suggestion
Serve with a sprig of heather.
