Creamy onion and bacon pizza

Use a ready-made pizza base or make your own using a packet dough mix.

What you need

275 g bread mix or pizza base mix
175 g rashers of rindless bacon, cut into small pieces
2 onions, peeled and sliced
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
175 g lancashire cheese, grated
150 ml soured cream
freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp fresh thyme

Method

  1. Make up the bread mix following the pack instructions. Leave to prove.

  2. Preheat oven and a baking sheet to 230°C.

  3. Place the bacon in a non-stick pan and cook gently until a little of the fat runs out. Add onion and garlic. Cook until bacon is browned and onion soft.

  4. Thinly roll the dough to 2 x 20 cm squares. Fold the edges of the dough in to give a raised rim. Spread the bacon and onion mixture over the dough. Sprinkle on the cheese. Place teaspoonfuls of soured cream evenly over the pizza.

  5. Season with black pepper and thyme. Transfer to heated baking sheet and bake for 20-25 min.
