Inventive hoagies

A change from the usual rolls.

What you need

6 assorted bread rolls
25 g butter, softened
4 slices cooked turkey
4 lettuce leaves, washed and roughly shredded
6 tsp cream cheese
1 small pear, cored and sliced
1 banana, peeled and sliced
6 tsp smooth peanut butter
1 carrot, grated
25 g raisins
3 tsp mayonnaise
1 red-skinned apple, cored and sliced
1/4 cucumber, sliced

Method

  1. Take 2 rolls and cut 2 horizontal slits in each. Lightly butter inside each roll. Place 2 turkey slices and 2 lettuce leaves in the bottom section of each roll. Fill the top section of each roll with 1 tbsp of the cream cheese and half the pear.

  2. Take 2 more rolls and cut in half. Liightly butter inside the roll then arrange half of the banana and 15 ml of the peanut butter inside each roll.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the carrot, raisins and mayonnaise.

  4. Take the remaining rolls. Cut 2 slits in each side and lightly butter the inside of each roll. Fill the bottom slit with the mayonnaise and carrot mixture. Then arrange the apple and cucumber slices in the top section.

  5. To serve, arrange the rolls on a serving plate.
