Apple sauce
A traditional accompaniment to roast pork.
What you need
- 450 g cooking apples, peeled cored and sliced
- 6 tsp-45 ml water
- 25 g butter
- 2 tsp caster sugar, or to taste
Method
Place apples in a pan with the water. Cook gently, uncovered, for about 10 min until soft.
Using a potato masher, mash the apple to a pulp. Stir in the butter and sugar to taste.
Serving suggestion
Serve with roast pork.
