Meatball kebabs with Red Leicester cheese

If using wooden kebab skewers, soak them first in cold water before using.

What you need

350 g minced beef
1 onion, peeled and grated
75 g wholemeal breadcrumbs
100 g red leicester cheese, grated
seasoning
1 egg, beaten
75 g sesame seeds
1 green pepper, de-seeded and cut into 2 1/2 cm pieces

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the minced beef, onion, breadcrumbs and cheese. Add the egg and mix until well combined. Divide the mixture into 18 equal portions and shape into meatballs.

  2. Roll 9 of the meatballs in sesame seeds.

  3. Thread the meatballs alternating with the green pepper onto skewers.

  4. Cook on barbecue for 10-15 min, turning frequently.
