Sticky spare ribs
Tasty ribs that can be cooked on the barbecue or under the grill.
What you need
- 900 g pork spare ribs, trimmed of excess fat
- for the marinade
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
- 6 tsp hoisin sauce
- 6 tsp soy sauce
- 6 tsp dry sherry
- 6 tsp tomato puree
- 6 tsp clear honey
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- for the glaze
- 6 tsp-4 tbsp clear honey
Method
Mix together the ribs with the marinade ingredients in a dish. Cover and leave in the fridge for 3-1 days. Turn the spare ribs several times to ensure an even coating.
Remove the ribs from the marinade and cook either on a barbecue or under a medium grill for about 15-20 min, turning occasionally.
5 min before the end of the cooking time, brush the ribs with the honey. Serve immediately.
Serving suggestion
Seasonal or tomato salad.
