Sticky spare ribs

Tasty ribs that can be cooked on the barbecue or under the grill.

What you need

900 g pork spare ribs, trimmed of excess fat
for the marinade
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
6 tsp hoisin sauce
6 tsp soy sauce
6 tsp dry sherry
6 tsp tomato puree
6 tsp clear honey
1/2 tsp sesame oil
for the glaze
6 tsp-4 tbsp clear honey

Method

  1. Mix together the ribs with the marinade ingredients in a dish. Cover and leave in the fridge for 3-1 days. Turn the spare ribs several times to ensure an even coating.

  2. Remove the ribs from the marinade and cook either on a barbecue or under a medium grill for about 15-20 min, turning occasionally.

  3. 5 min before the end of the cooking time, brush the ribs with the honey. Serve immediately.
