Barbecue sauce
Use to marinade meats or serve as a delicious sauce.
What you need
- 225 g tomato ketchup
- 175 g tomato puree
- 3 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp white wine vinegar
- 3 cloves
- 25 g onions, peeled and sliced
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
- 2 tsp caster sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 175 ml water
Method
Place all ingredients in a large pan. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 min or until thickened slightly.
Strain the sauce to remove the cloves and onions.
