Barbecue sauce

Use to marinade meats or serve as a delicious sauce.

What you need

225 g tomato ketchup
175 g tomato puree
3 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp white wine vinegar
3 cloves
25 g onions, peeled and sliced
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
2 tsp caster sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp black pepper
175 ml water

Method

  1. Place all ingredients in a large pan. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 min or until thickened slightly.

  2. Strain the sauce to remove the cloves and onions.
