Aromatic turkey breasts

This simple but tasty dish is even better if the turkey is left to marinate overnight. The turkey can be cooked on the barbecue, under a grill or on a griddle pan.

What you need

4 turkey breasts
for the marinade
100 ml light soy sauce
50 ml dry white wine
100 ml brown sugar
100 ml chinese five-spice
2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

Method

  1. Put the marinade ingredients in a jug. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Place the turkey breasts in a shallow heatproof dish. Pour over the marinade. Cover and chill for 1 hour, turning half-way through.

  2. Either place the steaks on a hot barbecue, under a preheated grill, or on an oiled preheated cast iron griddle pan, for about 5-8 min each side, depending on the thickness of the steaks, until cooked.
