Crispy cheesy biscuits
Serve as nibbles with drinks.
What you need
- 75 g plain flour
- 75 g butter, softened
- 75 g gruyere cheese, grated
- 1 egg, beaten
- 6 tsp poppy seeds
- 6 tsp sesame seeds
Method
Preheat oven to 200°C. Lightly grease a baking tray.
In a bowl, mix together the flour, butter and cheese. Turn the mixture out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead lightly to make a smooth dough.
Roll the dough out to a thickness of about 5mm / 1/10 1/4 cm. Using pastry cutters, cut into interesting shapes. Place on the baking tray. Brush with the beaten egg. Sprinkle half with the poppy seeds and half with the sesame seeds.
Cook in the oven for 10-12 min until light golden in colour.
Remove from oven. Leave to cool slightly. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
