Strawberry cup

A heavenly drink made from sparkling white wine mixed with dry white wine and lots of strawberries!

What you need

350 ml water
75 g caster sugar
1 kg strawberries, hulled, rinsed and sliced
6 bottles dry white wine, chilled
1 bottle sparkling white wine, chilled

Method

  1. Heat the water in a pan. Stir in the sugar. Heat gently until sugar has dissolved. Leave to cool.

  2. Place the strawberries in a bowl. Pour over the cold syrup and half the dry white wine.

  3. Chill well for 1 hour.

  4. Add the remaining dry white wine. Then add the sparkling wine.

  5. Serve immediately.
