Cheese and caviar canapes
Circles or stars of bread are topped with lumpfish roe and cream cheese.
What you need
- 3 slices bread, white or wholemeal
- 2 tsp black lumpfish roe
- 2 tsp salmon roe
- 100 g cream cheese
- 3-6 tsp single cream
- 1-2 fresh chives, snipped
Method
Cut bread into small rounds or use a 3 1/2 cm star cutter to create star shapes.
Place 1/10 ml of lumpfish roe in the centre of half the bread; and 1/2 tsp of salmon roe on the other pieces of bread.
Mix the cream cheese with enough of the cream to give a piping consistency. Spoon into a piping bag fitted with a small star nozzle. Pipe the cream cheese onto the bread stars.
Garnish with snipped chives.
