Glazed swede with whisky

A special way to prepare swede when cooking a roast dinner.

What you need

675 g swede, peeled and cut into 1 cm pieces
40 g butter
100 g demerara sugar
6 tsp whisky
seasoning

Method

  1. Place swede in a pan with the butter, sugar, whisky and enough water to cover.

  2. Bring to the boil. Cook uncovered over a high heat for 12-15 min or until water has evaporated to leave a buttery glaze.

  3. Season and serve.
