Creamed swede and celeriac
Swede and celeriac are boiled then mashed with cream, seasoning and nutmeg.
What you need
- 275 g swede, peeled and finely diced
- 275 g celeriac, peeled and finely diced
- 25 g butter
- 150 ml double cream
- seasoning
- 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
Method
Place swede and celeriac in a pan of boiling water. Cover and cook for 5 min or until tender. Drain well.
Return swede and celeriac to pan. Add the butter. Mash.
Stir in the cream, seasoning and nutmeg. Reheat gently.
Pile into a warmed serving dish.
Serving suggestion
Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
