Creamed swede and celeriac

Swede and celeriac are boiled then mashed with cream, seasoning and nutmeg.

What you need

275 g swede, peeled and finely diced
275 g celeriac, peeled and finely diced
25 g butter
150 ml double cream
seasoning
1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg

Method

  1. Place swede and celeriac in a pan of boiling water. Cover and cook for 5 min or until tender. Drain well.

  2. Return swede and celeriac to pan. Add the butter. Mash.

  3. Stir in the cream, seasoning and nutmeg. Reheat gently.

  4. Pile into a warmed serving dish.
