Strawberry kebabs with rich chocolate sauce
Absolutely scrumptious!
What you need
- for the sauce
- 100 g plain chocolate
- 40 g soft light brown sugar
- 100-200 ml water
- for the kebabs
- 20 strawberries, rinsed and hulled
- 48 marshmallows
- 4 figs, quartered
- 25 g butter, melted
Method
Place the chocolate, sugar and half the water in a pan. Heat gently until sugar has dissolved. Add the remaining water. Bring to the boil and simmer uncovered for 20 min.
Meanwhile, make up the skewers with the fruit and marshmallows (4 skewers per serving) using bamboo skewers that have been soaked in water to prevent burning.
Place on a baking tray. Brush with melted butter.
Grill for 1 min each side or until marshamallows are golden.
Serve with the chocolate sauce.
Serving suggestion
Sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Decorate with sprigs of fresh mint.
