Cabbage foogath (spiced cabbage)

An Indian dish. A foogath is the name given to a dish making use of pre-cooked vegetables.

What you need

50 g ghee
1 large onion, peeled, halved and sliced
2 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
1 green chilli, cored, de-seeded and sliced
450 g cooked shredded cabbages
2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp salt

Method

  1. Melt the ghee or butter in a pan. Add the onion, garlic and chilli. Cook for 8-10 min until golden brown.

  2. Stir the cabbage into the pan with the garam masala, cumin and salt. Cook over a gentle heat for 5 min, until piping hot.
