Apple and cream cheese pudding

A mouth-watering hot dessert that is easy to make and will be enjoyed by all the family.

What you need

1 kg eating apples, such as Golden Delicious
25 g butter
225 ml apple juice
3-4 drops vanilla essence
50 g granulated sugar
150 ml double cream
100 g cream cheese
2 eggs, beaten
50 g caster sugar

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.

  2. Peel, halve, core and coarsely chop apples.

  3. Generously grease inside of an ovenproof dish with butter. Add apples.

  4. Put apple juice into a pan with vanilla essence and granulated sugar. Stir over a gentle heat until sugar has dissolved.

  5. Pour the vanilla and apple syrup over apples. Cover with foil. Bake in oven for 15 min.
