Apple and cream cheese pudding
A mouth-watering hot dessert that is easy to make and will be enjoyed by all the family.
What you need
- 1 kg eating apples, such as Golden Delicious
- 25 g butter
- 225 ml apple juice
- 3-4 drops vanilla essence
- 50 g granulated sugar
- 150 ml double cream
- 100 g cream cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 50 g caster sugar
Method
Preheat oven to 190°C.
Peel, halve, core and coarsely chop apples.
Generously grease inside of an ovenproof dish with butter. Add apples.
Put apple juice into a pan with vanilla essence and granulated sugar. Stir over a gentle heat until sugar has dissolved.
Pour the vanilla and apple syrup over apples. Cover with foil. Bake in oven for 15 min.
Serving suggestion
Serve with ice cream for an extra treat.
Cook's tip
To vary add 50g raisins or sultanas at the end of step 4.
