Grape clafouti
Quick, easy and tasty: this dish works well served hot or cold.
What you need
- 25 g plain flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 tsp ground mixed spice
- 3 tsp caster sugar
- 6 tsp milk
- 1 egg
- 50 g seedless black grapes
- 1 tsp chopped pecan nut
- To decorate
- 1 tsp icing sugar
- 1 sprig fresh mint
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Sift the flour into a bowl with the salt, spice and sugar.
In a cup, beat together the milk and egg. Make a well in the flour. Pour in the milk mixture. Beat until well mixed.
Arrange the grapes in the base of a lightly greased 150 ml round individual ovenproof dish. Pour over the batter.
Place on a baking tray and bake for 15-20 min, or until firm and golden brown.
Sprinkle with a little icing sugar. Decorate with a sprig of mint. Serve hot or cold.
Serving suggestion
Cook's tip
If preferred, fresh or canned cherries can be used instead of the grapes - or even strawberries.
